Vancouver Opera Celebrates 60 Years

Celebrating 60 years since its inaugural performance, VO continues to commit to building a new generation of opera goers and broaden its communities making opera more accessible and diverse. As an example, their current scheduled production of The Flight of the Hummingbird has been released online in its entirety, an adaptation of an original parable originating from the Quechuan people of South America by way of a “Haida-manga” adaptation by BC artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. See The Flight of the Hummingbird trailer here.

We have had a fantastic kick-off to the campaign, and have had a very vocal outpouring of support from long-time loyal patrons and donors. AMS continues to help arts communities continue to thrive throughout a difficult time.
