Casey House

Casey House is Canada’s first and only stand-alone hospital for people living with HIV/AIDS, and with few medical conditions as stigmatizing as HIV/AIDS, it remains one of the few places where people can seek care without judgment. Founded by a group of volunteers in 1988, Casey House has evolved over the years, lovingly maintained as a warm and welcoming place for people to get better, delivering an enriched model of care to all clients.

In anticipation of increased demand for hospital beds due to the pandemic, Casey House prepared to admit patients from other hospitals. In addition to offering space in the 14-room inpatient unit, they reconfigured the dining room to make room for 10 additional beds, ensuring each area replicates the compassionate and expert care they have come to be known for. In keeping with their history, Casey House has responded to the pandemic just as they did in the 1980s; by filling a gap when they see one. For the second year, Artsmarketing Services is playing an important part in ensuring that, even during this pandemic, Casey House is able to provide compassionate care without judgement.
