The Opportunity:
Our firm is currently seeking talented sales professionals to join our marketing team.  Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Sales, the New Business Development Manager's (NBDM) number one priority is to prospect for new business in order to grow the company’s client base and increase sales. This will be achieved through prospect calling (leads provided) and networking at industry conferences.  Once a prospect becomes interested in the company's services, the NBDM will prepare a formal, detailed proposal outlining the strategies necessary to achieve the prospect's goals, as well as thorough revenue and expense projections. 

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be personable and possess a combination of savvy sales abilities and strong writing and presentation skills. The candidate should expect a steep learning curve as they gain knowledge and understanding of the audience to whom they are selling and what challenges those prospective clients face. In addition, the ideal candidate will be fluent in the art of building and cultivating relationships. 

A knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector is a distinct asset as are marketing, communications and project management skills that you bring to this Sales Position. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is crucial. Knowledge and comfort working in both a CRM and proprietary database are also assets.       

This is the ideal position for a responsible, self-motivated and well organized individual with superior verbal and written communications skills. The successful candidate will work in a variety of diverse groups and will manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This multi-tasking position requires the ability to speak and present confidently to senior staff, executives and board members from both client and prospective client organizations.

Job Description

Core Purpose:

  • Effective client relations, sales strategies
  • Training/motivating of Campaign Managers to deliver sales/operations results for our clients
  • To create effective campaign materials/strategy’s that allow us to provide superb customer service to our clients
  • Integrated sales projections and goals

Strategic Planning:

  • Analyze outcomes to facilitate  the development of  weekly campaign action plans 
  • Discuss weekly action plan with each manager and brainstorm sales/success concepts
  • Ensure all plans are adapted to fit the strategic objective of each client
  • Assist in development of measurement criteria, performance analysis and follow up recommendations for assigned campaigns
  • Cultivate opportunities beyond the operations plan to deepen the relationship with clients
  • Campaign Management:
  • Overseeing all aspects of the campaign operations

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a passion for not-for-profit  fundraising and an active interest in the cultural arts
  • They will be an enthusiastic leader who combines a results-oriented focus with an abiding respect for patron, donors and philanthropy
  • Strategic thinker with strong planning, management, and organizational skills
  • They must be computer literate in utilizing the research and fundraising tools available through technology. Familiarity with Tessitura will be considered an asset.
  • Able to communicate knowledgably and persuasively, and they will have excellent speaking and storytelling/writing abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate great individual initiative; able to control and move forward on several priorities simultaneously
